Let’s go out dancing, let’s hit the floor
Let’s make it look like we’re breaking the law
Tell that man there, hold the door
Let’s go out dancing ‘till we can dance no more
Let’s go out grooving, ‘till the early hours
Make them think they’ll soon be sending flowers
Groove like teenagers, who should not be out
Let’s go out grooving, now now now
I should leave but my legs are stuck
Can’t break away from this beat
We get lost all the time
To the sounds of the street
Let’s stay up all night, ‘till we taste the dawn
These early risers witness dancing on the lawn
We can’t leave – it's why we were born
Let's stay up all night and taste the dawn
‘Gone for Water’ played our honky tonk
Inlaws ringing in my ears
Put the light out and be thankful for
This music that we hear
Let’s go out dancing, let’s hit the floor
Let’s make it look like we’re breaking the law
Tell that man there, hold the door
Let’s go out dancing ‘till we can dance no more

Brown Smoke
03:09
|
|||
When it’s calm
Brown smoke rises and it fades
We're here together
Just cruisin’ it today
Let’s give it all away
Smoke rises higher
And the sea lets us through
Sun feels warm when you smile
Cars park in the direction
Of a never ending flow
Why do we have to go so slow?
Brown smoke rises
And the sea lets us through
Lets give it all away
Words going out
Round the globe today
We are the 99%
We are not goods in the hands of politicians & bankers
People all over the world
We are saying 'enough is enough'
We are not lazy, paranoid or confused
We will obey traffic lights
We are the 99%
Give it all away

You wanna buy a denim jacket for $30?
Spend that money on fashion
Element it must be fire
You don’t learn unless you a buyer
Don’t take my girl she’s all I got
What you wearing?
I’m feeling so fly got my hands up to the sky
I’ll be ripping south side can’t nobody steal my shine
But bawling ‘cos that’s how I play
Old school fool get out of my way
Them girlies like my steezer
I see like a freezer
Man you just a geezer
You can never please her
You wanna buy a denim jacket for $30?
Spend that money on fashion

Irene ft. Rikki Morris

Sitting in the back of the bus with Irene
This is the time and place for us with Irene
Everyone has a danger point
Just one spark let's blow this joint with Irene
Climbed thru my window last night with Irene
Stole a kiss and gave me a fright with Irene
Every time I see her eyes
I lose control I'm mesmerised
You left without a trace
Left me shattered wrecked my place
We woke the whole neighbourhood
With Irene
I wasn't thinking about falling in love
It was the furthest thing from my mind
But now she's here I just can't get enough
Hey Irene let's do this one more time...
Lying on the bed in a heap with Irene
Drifting in and out of sleep with Irene
Then I wake up with a start
There's a spike right thru my heart
Things are not what they seem
I've been tricked it's just a dream...
Where've you gone Irene?
She was just a dream...

Is this where you want to be
One arm over the other
Always dreamed of making it
Now you’ve just got to make it across
Where are the men?
Hey they are sitting in cars
Spend their lives at work
Away from everything, everything
Why can’t you be happy
How much does it cost?
All this time that we have wasted
We were never lost
There is a place where lawns never get mown
Cars stay dirty
No ones every on a mobile phone
Just enough rain
Maybe too much sun
The mall’s been empty for a while
We’re at the beach with everyone
What’s important is looking at the moon
Shine your torch at the big dark sky before you make a move
Why can’t you be happy
How much does it cost?
All this time that we have wasted
We were never lost

I did a strange thing I married for love
Even though my friends warned against it
But he was so strong and I was so young
I just felt so protected
He could put a man in his place with just a look
Or sometimes he might use a strong arm
Even if stares lingered a moment too long
I knew no-one could do me no harm
He had the face of a movie star just like a Clint
Or maybe even Clark Gable
And when the liquor it started to flow
He was always the last left at the table
But when his moods would grow dark and his temper would rise
And we all tried to keep out of sight
And when our child tried to come between us
He’d strike her down just as if it was his right
I could take a blow I’d worn them before
No this was not a new plight
But when he drew blood from our child
I took her and slipped away before night
Until one day when he gave me a call
Said it’s time to say your goodbyes
“I love you mum” I heard my girl say
“And I love you too” was all I could reply
Then he held her up on top
of that bridge
He stared into the sea below
And from the ground the passers-by saw
Her fall just like a ragdoll
In the wind she hears the cries of her cub
As she looks to the heavens above
Wishing that she could turn back the day
The day that she married for love

She’s left me again just like she said she would
Yeah she’s left me again just like she said she should
Hid the dagger of love deep underneath the hood
She’s left me again just as winter hit
She’s left me again storm raging cold and wet
I’ll get over you baby
It just ain’t happening yet
Monday through friday when I come home
Stare at the walls all alone
Thinking of the weekends when you were mine
Realising now it’s just a matter of time
She’s left me again it’s been a cold hard year
But eventually the darkest skies will clear
And it’s healing me to see the springtime here
She’s left me again just like she said she would
She’s left me again just like she said she should
And I know in my heart that this time she’s gone for good

Test the methane levels
No rescue down the mine
You’d go underground yourself
I’m not scared gas or not
PM said everything was being done
What to say to the people
We are here god
We are praying
Can’t believe the grief that’s here
We’ve come to a standstill
You crossed the White Knight Bridge
There’s just no simple explanation
Let it help us believe things can be better
What to say to the people
We are here god
We are praying

We’re munted in Brighton
Our senses are heightened
Every movement of the land
Turns our world to sand
They’re wrecked in Redcliff Fall into the sea
The city ain’t what it used to be
Come on bring back my bonny to me
We’re munted in Brighton
All our friends are freightened
Never heard of liquefaction
They’re laid out in Lytellton
The Britsh, The Empire, it’s all gone
Lancaster Park
Even Al Park sings the blues
They’re rockin’ in Rolleston
Our walls come tumbling down
We’re munted in Brighton
Even the rocks are freightened
We never heard of liquefaction
Munted in Brighton
We’re shifting because we are down
Our city is moving west
As the sun sinks in the east
We’re rockin in Rolleston
The walls come tumbling down
